Your books are the best. I love fairy tales, and you spin them in to something more than just a short fantasy story. My favorite book you have written is 'Ella Enchanted'. I've always loved the story Cinderella, because at the beginning Cinerella is just an ordinary girl, abused by her step sisters and stepmother. The one thing I have never liked about the Cinderella story is that her Happily Ever After is basically placed in her hands by a fairy godmother. In 'Ella Enchanted', you make the risk Ella's own, and in the end, thanks to Ella's resourcefullness, and clevernous, she gets to live her own Happilly Ever After. I also love how you bring the character of Ella back into 'Fairest'. I have read every one of your books besides 'Dave at Night', and have loved them all, especially (besides 'Ella Enchanted') 'Ever' and 'The Two Princesses of Bamare'. I aspire to be an author, and you, along with Shannon Hale and Jessica Day George, have fueled that dream.

Keep up the GREAT writing!
Shelby

P.S. I cannot wait till 'The Tale of Two Castles' comes out!:-)

Dear Gail Carson Levine!
You have inspired me to write from a young age. And every time I read your books I'm inspired more. Your writing is amazing and so sweet that I fall in love with every page!
Recently my English class has been assigned to research and do a major report on an American author and I chose you the moment I learned we could choose the the author. I chose you for your inspiration that you gave me from when I was in fourth grade and the amazing work you have produced through the years. I love all your outstanding work! Thank you so much for writing and influencing my life in a great way. As a writer I look up to you. Thank you again!

Mrs. Levine,
I love your books and I continue to reread them over and over again; particularly Ella Enchanted and Fairest. These books and many of your others have inspired me to start writing stories of my own. I thoroughly enjoy reading all of the writing tips and tricks you give. Now, I'm on my way to becoming a better author. Thank you. And as always I plan to have fun and save what I write!
