I'm rather a fan of your work, but nothing more than "Writing Magic." It's the finest book on how to write that I've ever encountered, even at 40 years old. If I wanted to get the book autographed, would there be an address where I could send it?

Dear Ms. Levine,

I just needed you to know what an important book Fairest has been for me. I read it for the first time when I was about 12. I had never enjoyed reading up to that point, and certainly didn't choose to read if I didn't have to. All of that changed when I read Fairest; I couldn't put it down! For the first time in my life, I chose reading over playing, drawing, even chatting with friends! I never knew to then what a great thing a book could be. I'm happy to say that I've found several more books to enjoy since that time, but Fairest will always be my first, and I never would have looked for others without it.

I'm rereading it now, 16 years later, and I'm delighted to say it's still as captivating and charming as it ever was. Thank you for sharing your wit and imagination. Thank you for the gift of books.

Sincerely,
Mary

I first discovered you by reading "Fairest," and it's still one of my favorite books of all time. It has beautiful writing, fresh twists on a (frankly) old tale, and a gorgeous love story. You made me want to write, to make readers as happy as you made me. Keep doing what you're doing!
Luv ya,
Elizabeth :D

Dear Gail,

Hi, I'm a 23 girl from Spain. Tinkerbell was my childhood and I loved the Tinkerbell books (even though I still haven't been able to read all of them as many never arrived here I believe). For a couple of years I've been on a 'quest' trying to find them. Thank you for the magic you created.

Sincerely,
Lourdes

Dear Gail,

At 28, two of my favorite books are still Ella Enchanted and Two Princesses of Bamarre. They've traveled with me to multiple apartments, through breakups, through moments joy and moments of not knowing how to proceed. I reread them annually, and smile when I remember I wrote my name multiple times in the books as a kid. It's hard to say just how meaningful they are to me—not only were they essential feminist works in my upbringing and inspired in me a love of fantasy and individuality—but they've continued to be sources of remarkably imaginative comfort and ingenuity and will be for years to come. I'm working on sending the word out for my own fantasy novel (eek!) and it's in large part thanks to you. I'm in awe of your imagination and always inspired by your work! Thanks for all the happy reads and the rereads to come :)
